The committee has recommended formation of a helpline which would facilitate management to react on the right time as soon as a complaint is lodged by a student.
However, the committee said the students of first year did not report these cases because of fear of social boycott. Meanwhile, the Central Government told the court they are in the process of setting up a centralised helpline to combat ragging
The Raghvan Committee is set up by the apex court to inquire in to the death of Aman Kachroo, the first year student of the college, allegedly following ragging on March 8.
Kachroo was beaten, on March 8, to death allegedly by three seniors and an intern because he complained about being ragged.
Police confirmed that he died of head injuries and other wounds. Supreme court took serious note of the incident and served a show cause on the college authorities asking to why action should not be taken against them.
The next hearing on the case is scheduled to take place on April 23.
