22 August,2024 02:37 PM ISTIn a historic milestone, indigenous LCA Mark 1A fighter aircraft on March 28 completed its first flight. The aircraft airborne for 15 minutes during its first maiden flight, as per Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL). Currently, two squadrons of IAF, 45 Squadron and 18 Squadron, are fully operational with LCA Tejas. HAL has current capacity to build 8 LCA aircraft per year, this is being increased to 16 aircraft's every year by 2025. In coming years the capacity will be further increased to 24 aircraft every year in the next 3 years. Over Rs 9000 crore have been sanctioned for the development of LCA Mk 2, an updated and advanced version of LCA Tejas. Earlier in the 2023, Air Chief Marshal stated that the Indian Air Force aims to replace the MiG-21 fighter jets with LCA Tejas.
28 March,2024 05:18 PM ISTAmid the ongoing Farmers Protest 2024, Punjab Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee General Secretary Sarwan Singh Pandher shared details of the demands of the protesting farmers who are carrying out ‘Dilli Chalo’ march. He said that if the MSP guaranteeing law can’t be made so soon, the Centre should give at least a legal guarantee. He said, "There are reports in the media that the MSP guaranteeing law cannot be formed so soon...All, we are saying is to give us a legal guarantee on that (MSP) so that we don't sell crops below that MSP. So, there is no question of a Committee...We would want the PM to step forward and speak with the farmers..."
14 February,2024 12:12 PM ISTAmid the ongoing Farmers Protest 2024, protesting farmers forcibly removed the cement barricade as they tried to cross over the Haryana-Punjab Shambhu border. Protesting farmers threw away police barricades down from the flyover at Shambhu on the Punjab-Haryana border as they marched towards Delhi to press for their demands. In retaliation, the police fired tear gas to disperse protesting farmers at the Punjab-Haryana Shambhu border. Punjab Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee General Secretary Sarwan Singh Pandher said "...Around 10,000 people are here at the Shambhu border. The farmers are maintaining a peaceful situation here and tear gas is being used against us through drones. (Protest) will continue until the government agrees to our demands."
