Diwali as a festival is associated with peace, prosperity and happiness. This auspicious festival is associated with numerous rituals which are followed across various regions and cultures of India. However, a few rituals associated with the festival of Deepavali are common and one of them is worshipping Lord Ganesha and Goddess Lakshmi. But not many know that Goddess Saraswati should also be worshipped along with Lord Ganesha and Goddess Lakshmi on the day of Diwali pujan. Diwali 2023 is here and so is the time to invite the blessings of Lord Ganesh and Goddess Laxmi into our homes. It is believed that on this day, Goddess Lakshmi visits her devotees and offers them gifts on this day. Hence devotees clean their houses and decorate their homes with marigold flowers, banana leaves, Ashoka leaves and mango leaves. The idols of Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha are installed and Ganesh - laxmi pujan is held. Lakshmi puja is one of the important rituals performed during the festival of Diwali. On the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi 2023, devotees welcomed “Ganpati Bappa” with colourful processions, bustling music, and energetic dance moves. Thailand Nationals celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi too and in rather endearing a manner. Thailand-based Ganeshinusan group installed Lord Ganesha idol at Girgaon in Mumbai. They offered prayer to Lord Ganesha and sang Ganesha Aarti. The group used to come to India for the past seven years to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi. Ganesh Chaturthi, also called Vinayaka Chavithi, is an auspicious Hindu festival which is celebrated for 10 days every year.
