In Vijayawada, the rain was so heavy that it flooded homes and cars. National and state disaster relief teams quickly arrived to help, moving affected residents to safer areas. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu visited the worst-hit areas to oversee the response. So far, around 80 people have been rescued, and many residents from low-lying regions have been relocated. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for the next five days, predicting thunderstorms and lightning, especially in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam. Due to incessant rains, Gujarat’s Vadodara faced heavy flooding and as a result it has led to some risky rescue and relief operations. Forest Department rescued the crocodile seen on the campus of the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda in Gujarat’s Vadodara on August 29. The crocodile was 11- feet long and the forest department successfully rescued the crocodile in flooded Vadodara. Range Forest Officer Karansinh Rajput said, "... We have rescued 10 crocodiles in the last 5 days. Two have been released and 8 are still with us. We will release them when the water level of the river decreases... Today, we rescued a 14-foot crocodile from a house near Kamnath Mahadev temple, one from near the Ratri Bazar and an 11-foot crocodile from the Zoology Department of the MS University..."
