Pramod Uttarkar, a 23 year old youth, believed to be upset over a job loss in a private company, went to his friend's room yesterday afternoon when nobody was inside and hanged himself to death from the ceiling, they said.
When Yogesh, the friend who had rented the room came back, he was shocked to see the body of Pramod. He reported the incident to police and also informed Pramod's family.
Even as police arrived on the scene and completed 'Panchanama' to send the body for post mortem to the government Sassoon hospital, Vasanti, mother of the deceased followed her son in death as she too hanged herself in the house kitchen last night, police said.
