The Mumbai police has invoked the stringent MCOCA (Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act) against a 30-year-old man who has more than 30 criminal cases against him in police records. The accused, identified as Prem alias Chotu Suresh Ulendala from Chembur, was spreading terror in the area. Recently, Ulendala along with a co-accused attacked 27-year-old Shamis Mhatre with a knife, paver block and iron rod. On basis of the complaint filed by Mhatre, the Chembur police arrested Ulendala along with his co-accused. During investigation, the police found that the Ulendala has more than 30 criminal cases across city, including rape, molestation, extortion, murder, theft, assault, attack on government employees and housebreaking cases. On Friday, Zone-6 police decided booked him under the MCOCA.  This year, this is the third person to be booked under MCOCA by the Zone-6 police.
