Film enthusiasts will love this upcoming screening of three short films, followed by a Q&A session with the directors.  Nauha, directed by Prathan Khurana, tells the story of a 22 year-old man becoming the caretaker of an elderly person.

The second film, Clouds of Monsoon, directed by Ketan Kuril is about the financial devastation suffered by many families during the COVID-19 lockdown, and therefore, is sure to make for an interesting and touching tale. The story focuses on a man who lost his job during the pandemic and gets another opportunity to provide for his family. In order to do so, however, he must overcome the travelling restrictions of the Mumbai train, his only means of travelling to work.

Also being screened is Loo, directed by Chanakya Vyas which prompts discussions on unattended caste biases in contemporary Indian society. The film follows a domestic worker who uses the common toilet at her employer’s home, which the employer soon discovers. These films explore the complexities of the class and caste system in Mumbai, making this an ideal event for those looking to think deeply and philosophically about social relations in our city.
