For 25 years now, Famous Dum Biryani has been famous (pun intended) in the Navi Mumbai belt. Started in 1999 by Rashid Khan, they’ve been serving chicken and mutton dum biryani that is slow-cooked on charcoal. Besides their long list of crowd-favourites that include tandoori biryani, tikka biryani, seekh biryani, seafood, they also make veg dum biryani that is cooked similarly to non-veg. Khan’s son, Feroz tells us, “We have been able to maintain our taste and quality because even today, my father personally handpicks the spices and they are roasted and blended in-house to get that unmatched flavour of biryani,” he adds.
