Unfair to expect youngsters to immediately fill Tendulkar's boots: Dravid

With Sachin Tendulkar calling it a day after the two-Test series against West Indies, the number four spot in the Indian batting line-up will be up for grabs.
And whoever occupies it will feel the pressure, given the brilliance with which Tendulkar made this position his own over the past 24 years.

“Look it is not going to be easy to fill those (Tendulkar’s) shoes. There are some talented players. Virat (Kohli) has been exceptional in one-dayers as well as Tests. But, we cannot expect people to come straight away and become the next Tendulkar,” said former India skipper Rahul Dravid.
“So you have got to give people some time. Kohli, (Rohit) Sharma, (Suresh) Raina are pushing hard for the slot. It will be interesting to see who can establish himself at that position for a while,” the 40-year-old added on the sidelines of the launch of Gillette - The Fusion Power Phantom razor in the city yesterday.
Tendulkar will play his 200th and last Test at the Wankhede from November 14-18. “I played a lot of cricket with Sachin. He never let his standards dip. His love for cricket has been consistent from the last 24 years. Hopefully, he enjoys his last two Test matches with his family and signs off on a high. He deserves a good farewell now,” he added.
