However, MCA Joint secretary Nitin Dalal said Amre had given indication he did not want to continue as coach.

“His tenure is till March 31 and he does not want to continue. Our CIC (Cricket Improvement Committee headed by Madhav Apte) will decide the future coach of all age groups teams,” said Dalal.

Under Amre (46), the team reached the semi-final of the Ranji Trophy before losing to eventual champions Karnataka.

Mumbai have now made it to the knock out rounds of the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 championship to be held in Cuttack from April 1-7 and Amre won’t accompany the team as coach, Dalal said. — PTI
