England, after winning the toss, were dismissed for 430 in their first innings against Australia on the second day of the first Ashes Test at Sophia Gardens on Thursday.

Moeen Ali, 26 not out overnight in a then total of 343 for seven, made 77. Left-arm fast bowler Mitchell Starc led Australia-s attack with five wickets for 114 runs in 24.1 overs.
England had collapsed to 43 for three before Joe Root-s 134 boosted their total.
