Sreesanth cheerful despite swine flu scare, says friends

India fast bowler S Sreesanth, who was admitted in a private hospital here with symptoms of Influenza A (H1N1), has been confirmed with swine flu, a Punjab Cricket Association official said last night.

Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) joint secretary GS Walia said Sreesanth's report had been received and it confirmed that the bowler, who made an impressive comeback in the Test series, has swine flu.
"Sreesanth was admitted here yesterday (Thursday) at around 11.30 pm. He was complaining of a sore throat, high fever and severe body ache," said, AR Banerjee, director of Fortis Hospital.
The doctors are
administering Tamiflu medicine to Sreesanth. It is learnt that the India fast bowler will receive this treatment for two more days in order to recover fully. He will need a week's rest after his stay in hospital. His brother Deepusanth reached Chandigarh yesterday morning and is with the player.
According to the flamboyant cricketer's friends, Sreesanth is not bogged down by the dreaded illness. "He isu00a0 his usual, chatty self and is in touch with family and friends over the phone.
Rohit out too
Sreesanth and middle-order batsman Rohit Sharma, who is suffering from a shoulder injury, have been ruled out of the second Twenty20 international against Sri Lanka to be held here today. All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has been called as back-up.
Sreesanth missed the first Twenty20 game in Nagpur too where India lost by 29 runs.
The Kerala paceman made a sizzling comeback to the Indian team during the India vs Sri Lanka Test series. His crucial blows helped the hosts to win the second Test at Kanpur. He bowled well in the third and final Test at Mumbai too.
India's series win helped the hosts to attain number one status in Test cricket.
