Irrespective of what Indian selectors had in mind when picking the squads , left-arm spinner would be feeling shortchanged
For it’s difficult to fathom what one needs to do in order to stay in the squad, especially after being adjudged the man-of-the match in your last Test. That’s precisely the case with Ojha who ended with a match-haul of ten wickets when he featured in Sachin Tendulkar’s farewell Test in November against the West Indies.

Ironically, that was the last game he played for India as he did not get a look in in the two-Test series that concluded against South Africa on Monday.
For the record, Ojha has taken 113 wickets in 24 Tests and 21 wickets in 18 ODIs. The Sandeep Patil-led selection panel has chosen six pacemen for the two Tests in New Zealand.
