Former India all-rounder Rusi Surti remains critical, according to doctors attending to him at Jaslok Hospital here. Surti's children have arrived late on Friday to be by the side of their ailing father.
Dr R R Pulgaonkar, CEO of Jaslok Hospital, said, “Surti is still in a critical condition and his children have given us the consent for further treatment but the patient is not fit for any surgery or to be administered any anesthesia.”

The 76-year-old Queensland-based all-rounder was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and put on a ventilator. Thursday’s Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) that was done on Thursday evening revealed the former cricketer had suffered a massive stroke, which led the doctors put him on ventilator and other life-support systems.
Surti represented India in 26 Test matches between 1960 and 1969. He settled in Australia after faring well on India’s 1967-68 tour there.u00a0
