“I have nothing against Pakistan and the players. Had it been any other (unsafe) country, I would have done the same thing. “I did not move court to seek any publicity. I am a cricket fan and was concern for our players.”

The 36-year-old professor has been following the game with interest. “I have also been following the IPL in India and all other international matches,” he says. Both petitioners (the other being Kamal Hossain Meahzi, an advocate) were represented by Barrister Hassan M S Azim. English and Bengali newspaper clippings and links which portrayed Pakistan to be unsafe to host the matches were attached in the 27-page petition.
