India are expected to play the same batting order which flopped in the last Test at Perth where they succumbed to an innings defeat to Australia. Despite calls to drop VVS Laxman, the Hyderabad batsman will not be touched.
Rohit still not in frame
Media reports have suggested that the Adelaide Test could well be his last for India. Rohit Sharma in all probability will continue being on the bench. It must be noted that the Mumbai batsman was on the last tour of Australia in 2007-08 when he figured in the one-day triangular series which India won.
MiD DAY learns that there will be some grass on the Oval track despite its reputation of it being batsman-friendly. While the Indian team combination will become clearer once they see the wicket, Australia will go in with three pacers and spinner Nathan Lyon. It can be recalled that the India playing XI in their last Test played here (in 2008) had skipper Anil Kumble and Harbhajan Singh.
