Spirited India look to carry on winning momentum as they take on Aus at Adelaide Oval on Sunday

The win against Sri Lanka in the tri-series may have been a morale-booster for the hapless Indians who were whitewashed in the Test series 0-4 and then lost to Australia in the first tri-series match. Taking inspiration from their last win against Sri Lanka, India are expected to go in with two spinners.

Lanky leg-spinner Rahul Sharma, who was dropped from the squad in Perth against Sri Lanka due to split webbing, is likely to return to the side at the expense of either Zaheer Khan or Vinay Kumar. Ravichandran Ashwin's match-winning performance in Perth may force skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni to play with two spinners. Ashwin took 3-32 to help India beat Sri Lanka.

However, India are all set to do away with the rotation policy for three openers, but Ashwin, during the pre-match media conference said he had no idea about the composition. "How do I know about the team's selection policy," Ashwin said. It seems Sachin Tendulkar will play along with either Virender Sehwag or Gautam Gambhir.

Media manager, GS Walia made it clear that the team's priority is to reach the final. "Rotation doesn't mean that we have to adhere to it without seeing the interest of the team," Walia told reporters. There are chances of shuffling in the middle-order too. With Suresh Raina not delivering, Dhoni may opt for Bengal right-hander Manoj Tiwary, it is learnt.

Australia to rest Mike Hussey
Australia will be resting veteran batsman Mike Hussey against India while all-rounder Mitchell Marsh has been brought back into the squad as his replacement. "Mike Hussey is to be rested and will not travel with the squad to Adelaide while Ben Hilfenhaus has returned to Hobart and will not join the squad for tomorrow's (Sunday's) match," Cricket Australia said in a statement.
