Former Ranji cricketer Santosh Shinde and captain of defending champions Mumbai Police Cityriders, played a crucial, unbeaten knock of 68 to steer his side to a thrilling two-wicket win over Sagar Sameer-Bandra Heroes to enter the final of the Twister-Mitsui Shoji T-20 league yesterday.
The holders will take on Ghatkopar Jets, who beat Shivaji Park Warriors by seven runs in the other semi-final.
After putting Bandra Heroes into bat, Shinde appeared to have rued his decision as their opener Swapnil Salvi hammered their pace and spin attack to all parts of the ground.
Salvi hit 12 sixes and nine fours in his 124 which paved the way for his side finishing with 207 for six. In reply, the Policemen ended up with 212 for eight. Kevin Almeida scored 66 (12x4, 3x6).
