Former England coach David Lloyd yesterday said that the stunning defeat against Ireland signalled the end of the World Cup campaign for Andrew Strauss' side.
"I do not think England have got a chance this time to win the World Cup. It's very, very doubtful. If it happens, it would be a miracle," Lloyd told MiD DAY. Ireland scored the first major upset of the tournament by beating England by three wickets and with five balls to spare at the M Chinnaswamy stadium. "I can't believe that England bowlers could not defend their total of 327. The young (Kevin) O'Brien was in great form and punished the England attack. But I am surprised that no England bowler could keep him under check," Lloyd said.
