The Pakistan Cricket Board immediately issued a statement, saying it was a "power transformer blast" that was caused by malfunctioning.

A couple of policemen received minor injuries, it said.

Police have cordoned off the area and no one is allowed to leave or enter the premises.

Even media was not allowed to reach the spot.

A Rescue 1122 official told PTI that at least four people had been injured in the blast.

He, however, did not confirm whether it was a 'cracker, suicide, or transformer' blast.

"We have shifted the injured to hospital. About the nature of the blast, the police will better tell you," he said.

The Punjab government has given a "presidential" security to the Zimbabwe Cricket Team to ensure that no terror incident could take place during its tour.
