In a shocking incident captured on video, a Dalit woman and her minor kin were brutally assaulted at the GRP Police Station in Katni, Madhya Pradesh, sparking widespread outrage. The October 2023 footage shows a woman in civilian clothes mercilessly beating the woman with a stick, while uniformed police officers later join in. The video shows the woman`s teenage kin being restrained and severely beaten by four policemen. The brutal scene has led to significant public outcry. In response, the station in-charge has been transferred, and a DIG-level officer has been assigned to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident. Speaking about a viral video showing a group of Sadhus being purportedly thrashed by a mob in the Purulia district in West Bengal, Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Anurag Thakur on January 13 criticised the West Bengal government against appeasement politics and Law and Order issue in the state.While talking to the media, Union Minister Anurag Thakur said, "Appeasement politics has created such an environment.
