The vibrant and joyous festival of Gudi Padwa was celebrated by Hoisting the traditional Gudi and prayer to it on the New year for the Hindus on Gudi Padwa in Mumbai on 9th of April. People were seen participating in the Shobha Rally. Women were seen dressed in traditional attire and  participated in the Rally to mark the Marathi New Year Gudi Padwa. They danced their hearts out on the beats of dhol and nagadas. The festival was celebrated with full vigor and enthusiasm. Gudi Padwa ocassion signals yeh onset of the warmer days and the spring season. This year Gudi Padwa has coincided with the first day of the Chaitra Navratri and festivals like Sajibu Cheiraoba, Navreh, Cheti Chand and Ugadi that are celebrated in different parts of the country. 

The festival of Dahi Handi, celebrated with great enthusiasm across India, especially in Mumbai, brings vibrant festivities to life. Notably in areas like Dadar, Worli, and Ghatkopar, the celebrations were marked by lively participation and colorful displays. Videos captured the spirit of the festival, showcasing children immersed in the festivities and adults raising awareness on women’s safety and crime with impactful placards. The highlight of Dahi Handi 2024 involves ‘Govindas’ forming multi-tiered human pyramids to break earthen pots filled with curd, symbolizing Lord Krishna`s fondness for curd and butter from his childhood. This reenactment, held after Krishna Janmashtami, celebrates Krishna’s playful spirit and connects devotees to his legendary days. The festival not only honors tradition but also brings communities together in a joyous and meaningful way.
