Wayanad landslide: How did the tragic mishap take place?

A massive landslide hit Kerala`s Wayanad district early today, July 30, following heavy rains. The landslide struck Meppady, Mundakkai, and Chural Mala, causing 24 deaths and injuring over 70 people. Emergency teams, including 250 members from various rescue organizations, are working hard to help those trapped. Dr. Sekhar Lukose Kuriakose, Member Secretary of Kerala State Disaster Management, explained that the Wayanad landslide was caused by a river splitting into two, which contributed to the disaster. The heavy rains weakened the ground, leading to the landslide and the tragic consequences for the affected areas. Watch video to know how and what caused the deadly incident.

Hathras Stampede: Victim’s daughter narrates the horrific mishap that occurred

On  2nd July, over 121 people were killed in a crush at a religious gathering in Uttar Pradesh`s Hathras. The incident took place at a Satsang which is a hindu religious event, at Phulrai village in Hathras. The daughter of the deceased on July 5 narrated the horrific Hathras stampede incident during Satsang. The victim’s daughter claimed that the ‘Bhole Baba’ asked the devotees to take the dust from his feet.  “...He asked us how it all happened. I told him while he was leaving, Baba asked the devotees, `Mere charno ki dhool lo`. After which people ran to touch his feet. They collided with each other and fell one upon the other... When my mother didn`t come home, we went to search for her. There were bodies covered in mud...,” said bereaved Family.
