Separations Geography, a collaboration between 12 artists across India and Pakistan, explores cities on either sides of the border, but does it through their imagination. The artists have not set foot in these cross-border cities, but they have a memory of them from archival photos, from stories of yore and even Bollywood. One such project, Duur-Paas, by Pakistani filmmaker Fahad Naveed and Kashmiri writer Onaiza Drabu reimagines Mumbai and Lahore through visual and literary experiences, devoid of any physical contact. 

Celebrated author-activist Mahasweta Devi has resigned as chairperson of West Bengal's top literary body - the Bangla Academy. It is a post she was appointed to by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee last year. One of the academy's tasks is to annually give out the Vidyasagar Puraskar to deserving writers. But now, the government has refused to give the award to two people selected by the academy. Video courtesy: NDTV
