The Maharashtra government lifted all Covid-19 restrictions from April 2 and made the wearing of masks voluntary. However, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has appealed to citizens to continue wearing masks as a precautionary measure. When we spoke to the people of Mumbai, we found out that some have decided to comply with the BMC’s appeal and use masks while some think otherwise.

As the Covid-19 cases in India drop,  the Home Ministry has decided to end all Covid-19 containment measures from March 31, two years after their implementation following the outbreak of the pandemic. However, wearing of face mask and maintaining social distancing norms will continue as earlier.
