Jackie Shroff Files Case in Delhi HC to protect his iconic ‘Bhidu’ personality
Actor Jackie Shroff has approached the Delhi High Court to seek protection of his personality and publicity rights on May 14. The suit has been filed against entities for unauthorized use of his name, photographs, voice, and the iconic term "Bhidu." Shroff is asking the court to stop these parties from using any part of his identity that makes him unique, as this could confuse or deceive people. On Tuesday, Justice Sanjeev Narula took up the case and issued summons related to Shroff`s request. The actor is requesting a permanent injunction to prevent the defendants from violating his personality and publicity rights by using his name `Jackie Shroff`, `Jackie`, `Jaggu Dada`, `Bhidu`, as well as his voice, image, and any other unique attributes associated with him, for any commercial or personal benefit.
Krishna Janmabhoomi case: Lawyer Vishnu Jain hails Allahabad HC’s decision
The Allahabad High Court approved the survey of the Shahi Idgah Masjid in the Krishna Janmabhoomi case on December 14. Vishnu Shankar Jain, the lawyer for the Hindu side while speaking to ANI said that this is a landmark judgement. He further added that to know the actual position, an advocate commissioner is required. Vishnu Shankar Jain, the lawyer for the Hindu side, said, "Allahabad HC has allowed our application where we had demanded a survey of Shahi Idgah Masjid by the advocate commissioner. The modalities will be decided on December 18. The court has rejected the arguments of Shahi Idgah Masjid. My demand was that in Shahi Idgah Masjid, there are a lot of signs and symbols of the Hindu temple, and to know the actual position, an advocate commissioner is required. It`s a landmark judgement by the court."
