The NEET controversy has been taking different twists and turns. Now in a latest update, the Supreme Court declined petitions to cancel and reconduct NEET-UG 2024, stating no widespread exam breaches occurred. The court emphasized the significant repercussions of cancelling and reorganizing the exams. Despite acknowledging paper leaks in Hazaribagh and Patna, the apex court found no systemic irregularities affecting the overall exam. Petitioners expressed disappointment, calling the decision heartbreaking. NEET-UG is a crucial exam for medical admissions, and concerns about paper leakage and malpractices prompted the petitions. Interim bail has been granted to Delhi Chief Minister and AAP National Convener Arvind Kejriwal by Supreme Court. CM Arvind Kejriwal was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in the Delhi excise policy case. The Apex Court referred his petition challenging his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate to a larger bench. Supreme Court observed that ‘elected leader’ Arvind Kejriwal has suffered incarceration of 90 days. However, Delhi’s Chief Minister Kejriwal will remain in the CBI custody in the excise policy matter.
