The Maharashtra Cabinet on Tuesday approved Rs 11,500-crore relief package for districts battered by natural calamities like floods and landslides. The fund will be spent on short-term and long-term measures. 

Mumbai continues to be battered by incessant rainfall. Based on a request received from the Government of Maharashtra, the Western Naval Command, Mumbai has mobilised Flood Rescue Teams and Helicopters to provide assistance to the State Administration.
