Actor Naseeruddin Shah plays the role of Cabinet Secretary Vinay Kaul, IAS, based on Prabhat Kumar, in the web series ‘IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack’. Talking about his memories of the December 1999 incident, the veteran actor said that he feared the hijack would trigger another wave of Islamophobia. Netflix`s new series `IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack` has been accused of deliberately changing the names of hijackers and giving them Hindu code names. At a press conference in Mumbai, director Anubhav Sinha was repeatedly questioned by a journalist about the controversy surrounding the series. Sinha first asked, “Aap laga rahe hein aarop?” He lost his cool when he kept asking the journalist if he had watched the show, and did not get a direct answer.
