On May 27th, the cyclonic storm Remal hit between West Bengal and Bangladesh coasts with an intensity of 110 to 120 kmph, gusting to 135 kmph. Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal witnessed heavy rain and gusty winds after the landfall of severe cyclonic storm. The heavy rains from the storm flooded several areas, compounding the difficulties for residents.
