Modi emphasized that perpetrators of these crimes must face stringent punishment and must not be spared, highlighting the government`s zero-tolerance stance on gender-based violence. He also issued a stern warning to those who assist or harbor these criminals, stressing that aiding wrongdoers would not be tolerated and would be met with severe consequences. The tensions in violence-hit Manipur heightened again after teenagers were allegedly “kidnapped and killed” by armed miscreants. Acting swiftly on it, Home Minister Amit Shah appointed CBI Special Director, and other officials in Manipur to investigate the matter. The CBI team led by Special Director Ajay Bhatnagar reached Manipur on September 27 to investigate the murder of two students. Meanwhile, Manipur CM Biren Singh informed that the CBI has arrested four accused from Churachandpur in this case.
