The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) on Friday clarified that minor cracks were found on the approach road connecting Atal Setu in Ulwe, which is not a part of the Atal setu bridge but is a service road connecting the bridge. MMRDA stated that the cracks are not due to structural defects in the project and do not pose any threat to the structure of the bridge.

Earlier on April 16, as many as 29 Naxals were gunned down in a massive encounter in Chhattisgarh Kanker. Later, Home Minister Amit Shah on April 17 said that “Naxalism will be uprooted from the country”. Meanwhile, massive encounter is still underway in the area and more updates will follow.
