Amidst the ongoing investigation in the Kolkata Rape Horror case, the Enforcement Directorate conducted raids at the residence of former principal of Kolkata`s RG Kar Medical College Sandip Ghosh on September 06. ED registered a case under PMLA to probe money laundering charges against Sandip Ghosh in financial irregularities case. The former principal of RG Kar Medical College, Sandip Ghosh is presently in CBI’s custody.

Filmmaker Hansal Mehta took a stand for justice by joining a protest in Mumbai, demanding action and accountability in the tragic case of a 31-year-old trainee doctor who was raped and murdered at Kolkata`s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. Hansal Mehta and his daughter were spotted standing with placards in hand along with other protestors in Mumbai. The postgraduate trainee doctor was found dead in the seminar hall of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital on August 9. The incident has sparked nationwide protests and strikes by the medical community. Protests have been held in various cities, including Delhi, Chandigarh, Mumbai, and Kolkata, with demands for justice for the victim and punishment for the accused
