Prime Minister Narendra Modi met leaders of nearly 11 trade unions to discuss labour law amendments. Trade unions have opposed certain proposed amendments to labour law, like easing of retrenchment and unit closure norms.

Congress Leader Mallikarjun Kharge said on Tuesday NDA government should have communicated GST bill amendments which would have evinced the presence of accommodating suggestions proposed by the Congress and other parties.
