Veteran Congress leader and former External Affairs Minister K. Natwar Singh passed away on Saturday night at Medanta Hospital in Gurugram, where he had been receiving treatment for a prolonged illness. He was 93 years old. Born in 1931 in Bharatpur, Rajasthan, Singh transitioned from a distinguished diplomatic career to Indian politics. He served as the External Affairs Minister from 2004-2005 under Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, and held various ministerial roles including Union Minister of State for Steel, Mines and Coal, and Agriculture in Rajiv Gandhi`s government from 1985-1986. Singh was first elected as an MP from Bharatpur in the 1984 elections, marking his entry into politics from the Indian Foreign Services. His career spanned significant roles in both diplomacy and politics, reflecting his substantial contributions to Indian public life. Watch video.
