As many as 14 people died and 74 people were injured after a massive hoarding collapsed in Mumbai’s Ghatkopar on May 13. A team of NDRF carried out rescue operations. Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde has announced an ex-gratia amount of Rs 5 lakh to the victims’ next of kin. RTI Activist Anil Galgali has demanded action against those who are responsible for the tragic incident. Eknath Shinde warned that a case of “culpable homicide” will be registered against whoever is responsible for the incident. Watch video for more. 

Nearly 1,000-school students face an uncertain future after Shri Balaji International School in Malad (W) received a BMC notice stating that the ground plus eleven-floor building is operational without Occupation Certificate. As the school and authorities are caught up in a tussle, it is the students who might suffer, as it is their fate that hangs in the balance.
