The festival, which began on September 7 this year, marks the fourth day of the Hindu lunisolar calendar month `Bhadrapada` and is observed over ten days, concluding with `Anantha Chaturdashi`. The highlight of this year’s celebrations was the unveiling of the first look of the revered Lalbaugcha Raja idol, which drew immense crowds eager to witness and offer their prayers to the majestic deity. Ganesh Chaturthi, a festival dedicated to Lord Ganesha, is a time of vibrant festivities, elaborate decorations, and heartfelt prayers, reflecting the rich cultural and spiritual heritage of Mumbai. The Lalbaugcha Raja, renowned for its grand decorations and significant cultural impact, continues to be a central figure in the city’s celebrations, symbolizing the essence of devotion and community spirit.
