Every year Children`s Day is celebrated on the 14th of November in memory of the country`s first PM Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. After his death in the year 1964, his birth anniversary was chosen as the date to celebrate Children`s Day. After Nehru’s demise, a resolution was passed in the Parliament that Children`s Day in India will be celebrated on his birth anniversary.

On the eve of Guru Nanak Jayanti, PM Narendra Modi on Nov 07 participated in the 553rd birth anniversary celebration of Guru Nanak Dev. PM Modi extended his best wishes to all the countrymen on the occasion of Gurpurab, the festival of lights.
