As per the new plans, the building will have separate rooms to issue licences, learner licences and even permits. Facilities such as a computer room housing all digital records, a conference room, a women’s waiting room and an inspection room wouldalso be included. Additionally, archived data would be stored in a separate room.

“We hope the estimated budged is sanctioned soon so that construction can begin,” said Vashi RTO officer Sanjay Dhaygude, adding, “The new office would be more systematic, which would not only make our work easier but will also help the people. If the estimate budget gets sanctioned in the next two months, then construction is likely to begin in April.” Another RTO official added, “We are happy that the office will have a systematic approach.
