An email sent to major IT firms and media houses on New Year's Day, threatening to trigger explosions at IT companies by the end of March, has caused quite a flutter.

An email sent to major IT firms and media houses onu00a0 New Year's Day, threatening to trigger explosions at IT companies by the end of March, has caused quite a flutter.

The email, said that the plans of attacking the IT cityu00a0 and eliminating L K Advani, leader of the opposition, will not be dropped just because the cyber crime police has blocked the YouTube account of the senders. "Even if the contents are deleted, we will go ahead with our plans," the mail said.

Holy war

The email claims that it is a holy war, and they have targeted three software companies in Bangalore. "The three companies will be bombed and reduced to ashes," the mail said. The main intention of the terrorists was to scare the FDI inflows into India and target the country's economic prosperity. According to them it was not right on part of the foreign investors to invest in India.

"There are thousands of roses for those who respect Islam, but there are powerful arms to behead those who insult Islam," the email said.

"This time no one can stop us or leave us incomplete in our mission," the mail said and added that the attack would be executed on the software giant between March 13 and March 26.

The email also talked about the Indian police for their ill-equipped mechanism to combat terrorism. "The police department has given substandard bullet proof jackets to commondos. This helped us to kill them. All NSG commondos are given the same poor quality helmets and bullet proof jackets," the email said.

u00a0"Send the security personnel and commondos to us, we'll train them and provide our guns and strong bulletproof jackets," the email said.

Hoax threat?

The police have reportedlyu00a0 tracked the origin of the email to a local young man from Bharatinagar, here. They have received over 15 such mails in the last one month. The police say that the email threat could well be a hoax as the mail has been sent three months prior to their scheduled mission.u00a0
