"The pods will have detailed information about Metro network, stations, fare structure as well as information about city's major tourist attractions," DMRC spokesperson Anuj Dayal said.

Since the pods will be internally networked, DMRC can flash instant messages for the public in case of any emergency or inordinate delays.

"These pods are currently undergoing trial and software checks and will be operational within a month ," Dayal said. "It is also proposed to equip these pods with the Bluetooth facility to ensure that all the downloadable information available in the pods is easily transferred to mobile phones," he said.
