Around 1.83 lakh CAT students waited all day long to check their scores, but were disappointed thanks to slow servers, that couldn't handle the traffic across the country. Coaching centres across the city expressed their dismay at not being able to access the website even as their phones kept ringing.

Chitritha Bannerjee, centre head, IMS Learning, said, "Our students are unable to view their scores and the problem has persisted ever sinjce the scores were out. Sometimes it just flashes and then it goes away. I wonder why nothing was done despite the fact that authorities knew that the traffic would be heavy."

Raima Sattar, a counsellor at TIME (Triumph Institute of Management Education), said, "It takes forever to look at the results, but it keeps on loading, and the times out. At least our students aren't panicking. Hopefully, everyone should know how much they've scored soon enough."

Vinod Iyer, AVP, Career Launcher, said, "The longer it takes for a student to view his or her scores the harder it is for us to counsel them on what their next step should be. We're still not sure who's scored what."

The bright side
Of the few students who were lucky enough to access their scores, a BMS College of Engineering student was thrilled to learn that she'd managed to secure a 98.3 percentile.

Ipshita Wadhwa (22), said, "I studied really hard and it paid off. My parents are just as happy. I was lucky to get the results last night, right after the results came out."

Keshav Krishnamurty (22), a student at St Josephs College of Arts and Science wasn't too thrilled with his 99.96 over all percentile.

Keshav even scored a full 100 percentile in verbal. He said, "Actually, I feel like I could've done a lot better. My parents are pleased but I think once the initial shock wears off it might be different." He added, "Disappointing as it is, I think it's probably just me who feels this way."

Professor Bringi Dev, IIM communications department, said, "At times it was running low because of the traffic. But not all the time, as alleged. There is always a possibility that some students may have slow connections. Our servers are just fine. We had set up five to six mirror sites to avoid something like this. If the students had used those sites they wouldn't have suffered."
