After Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu extends COVID-19 lockdown till August 31

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K. Palaniswami on Thursday announced the extension of Covid-19 lockdown till Aug 31, with certain relaxations in the existing restrictions.
In a statement issued here, Palaniswami said based on the discussions held with District Collectors on Wednesday, with the medical experts on Thursday and with senior ministers the Covid-19 lockdown which was supposed to come to an end on July 31 has been extended till August 31 across the state.
He also said there will be total lockdown without any relaxations on all the Sundays in the month of August.
