Earlier in the day, the college principal of  Vidya Pratishthan while speaking to mid-day asserted that she also heard about Salman Khan's possible visit to the college, though the management did not confirm on the same.

A student said, "Choosing between Salman and Modi is really a tough choice. But if Salman and Kaitrina visit the campus, we would prefer to stay here rather than go for Modi's rally.

Principal Deshpande added, "The atmosphere in college campus is strictly apolitical and students have all freedom if they want to attend PMs rally."

However BJP candidate of Baramati Balasaheb Gavde, whose campaign was bolstered by Narendra Modi's presence was not amused by the rumours going around.  He alleged that NCP office bearers were deliberately spreaing this rumour to ensure low turn out of students for Modi rally.

"How can a rumour about Salman and Katrina's visit hit on the same day as Modiji's rally. This is nothing but conspiracy by NCP leaders and karyakartas to ensure low turn out for today's rally," Gavde said.

He added, "Yesterday some NCP office bearers circulated message on Whats app saying Modi has canceled today's Baramati rally. But all these efforts will go in vain as the rally is going to become turning point in Baramati."
