Outgoing Mayor Mohan Singh Rajpal of NCP plays carrom and visits places of worship, Four-time corporator Jyotsna Sardeshpande of BJP relaxes with family, and Rajendra Wagaskar of MNS goes to Mahalaxmi temple.

For 15 days, family and health took a backseat for most of them. After all, they were busy campaigning across their panels for the civic election.

But for the last two days, these tired leaders preferred to spend their time relaxing, chatting and playing indoor games with friendsu00a0-- some even made time for their favourite deity. As the model code of conduct was announced by the State Election Commission on Tuesday, the poll candidates took a break. Now they are eagerly waiting for the polling to get over today.

Family time
Four-time corporator and senior BJP leader Jyotsna Sardeshpande is taking rest and spending some time with her family. "Although I have spent 20 years in politics, I am still anxious about the election result. However, I spent the last two days taking rest and also advised my party workers to sleep early on the last night (Wednesday) as we all have to return all charged up," said Sardeshpande.

For outgoing mayor Mohan Singh Rajpal, the last two days were spent relaxing with friends and party workers. "When I finished my campaign on Tuesday, I saw some of the party workers playing carrom. As it is my favourite game, I also joined in for some time," said Rajpal.

Temple visits
Rajpal also visited the Kasba Ganapati and Hanuman temple for a favourable result in the civic poll. Rajpal is also known to isolate himself in a room to do the bhangra as a means of relaxing. Sitting MNS corporator from Koregaon Park Rajendra (Babu) Wagaskar finished his campaigning a day prior to the announcement of model code of conduct.

"I wanted to spend time with families that have more then seven voters," said Wagaskar. He added that however busy he was, he never went out for campaigning before performing pooja at home. "After the last few days' busy schedule, yesterday I got free time, which I spent in visiting the Mahalaxmi temple in the city," said Wagaskar.
