The doubling rate improved significantly and was recorded at 2,616 days on Thursday. The recovery rate remained constant at 97 per cent, with 162 more people recovering and getting discharged. 

The state saw a marginal drop in new cases while a rise in Covid-19 fatalities. According to the report by the state’s health department, 848 cases and 50 deaths were added to the official tally on Thursday. The state’s case fatality rate remained constant at 2.12 per cent. After 974 more patients were discharged on Thursday, the state has 9187 active cases.

Daily cases in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) also dropped significantly to 339, including the ones from Mumbai. The Thane Municipal Corporation reported 41 new cases, Kalyan-Dombivli 23, Navi Mumbai 20, Vasai-Virar 14, Raigad 19 and Panvel 17.

The MMR, excluding Mumbai, registered 15 deaths, including 11 in Raigad, the highest in the region. Ulhasnagar, Panvel and Vasai-Virar reported one death each.
