Indian Coast Guard successfully evacuates fisherman off Mumbai

The Indian Coast Guard (ICG), conducting a rescue operation, saved the life of a fisherman from the Arabian Sea, approximately 90 nautical miles west of Mumbai on Wednesday.
The fisherman was suffering from urination retention and severe stomach ache since February 27. The ICG Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre in Mumbai received a message at 4.34 pm on February 28 about a medical emergency onboard a fishing boat.
The ICG ship Samudra Prahari was diverted from an operational deployment to provide necessary medical assistance. The ICG ship reached the fishing boat at 10.50 pm on February 28.
The 65-year-old fisherman was taken onboard the Coast Guard ship and was given primary treatment by the ship's Medical Officer. He was later transferred in stable condition to the other fishing boat Tesai Mauli Kripa off Mumbai, for further medical management.
