Smarting from the jibe, Mumbai BJP chief Ashish Shelar asked the Shiv Sena to quit the governments in the state and Centre if it held PM Narendra Modi responsible for the loss
The Assembly poll outcome in New Delhi has led to further discomfort between the BJP and its ruling partner, Shiv Sena, with Uddhav Thackeray blaming PM Narendra Modi for BJP’s defeat.

Taking a dig at Modi, the Sena chief described Arvind Kejriwal’s unprecedented win as a tsunami, which was bigger than any (Modi) wave. He even congratulated Kejriwal and said he would attend his swearing-in ceremony if he was invited.
Reacting strongly to ruling partner’s statement, Mumbai BJP chief Ashish Shelar asked the Sena to quit the governments in the state and Centre if it held Modi responsible for the loss. “The results have shown that a tsunami is bigger than any wave. The people of Dehi have proved that they cannot be taken for granted. They were tired of the current political situation,” Uddhav told media on Tuesday.

He also endorsed social activist Anna Hazare’s statement that the BJP’s poor showing in Delhi was Modi’s defeat. “I agree with Hazare, who said Kiran Bedi is not responsible for Delhi’s loss. It is a defeat of Narendra Modi,” said Thackeray.
Uddhav’s son Aditya led from the front when the election trends showed that AAP would record a landslide victory. He declared on social media that his father had made a congratulatory call to Kejriwal. While Shelar reacted very sharply, other senior party leaders, including Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis chose to ignore Thackeray. Fadnavis tweeted a congratulatory message for Kejriwal and wished him luck.
