Dirty toilets greeted passengers using Mumbai airport's T2 and T1 on Wednesday 

The strike was organised over salary dispute with the staffers demanding a hike in pay. While the cleaning crews are being paid Rs 8400 per month by the airport management, the staff claim that all house keeping staff should be paid Rs 10700 per month since the start of the current year.

The strike was called off only after the management took the decision to hold a meeting with the disgruntled cleaning staff.

The strike was called at 7am on Wednesday with 250 staffers of the three house keeping firms – A TO Z, Krystal and ISS – responsible for cleaning and other allied work, went on toll down strike.

The staffers in T2 sat peacefully at the east side of the Multi-Level Car Parking (Level-5) of T2.

“The demands from the staff of these house keeping agencies will be placed in a meeting that is to be held on Friday. Further steps will be taken only after the meeting gets over,” said one of the participants of the strike.
