Frustrated with the various land scams emerging, a group of responsible brokers have decided enough is enough.

Frustrated with the various land scams emerging, a group of responsible brokers have decided enough is enough.

Yesterday, a group of 120 brokers met to ensure more transparency in land deals and steer clear of any murky transactions.

The meeting also saw realtors deciding to form associations and approach builders for bulk deals, which would benefit customers.

Customer-friendly

A group of realtors called 'The Real Club' have come together in the endeavour to be more customer centric.

Sandeep Sadh, the convenor of the group, said, "We have sleepless nights, as at times if the deal is not completely transparent, then we can be held responsible.

As professionals we are determined to see transparency in all the deals we do and not fool customers."

The realtors also said that they will approach builders and ask them to let realtors sell the entire project.
"If a realtor has one buyer, we get a small discount for the buyer.

However, if the number of buyers is more, then we can get a big discount, which will be an advantage to buyers," said Kalpesh Shah, another realtor, who attended the meeting.

When asked if the move was a ploy to revitalise the market that was seeing a downward spiral, Sadh added, "Our move has nothing to do with the market condition.

The decision to be transparent and customer centric is independent of the market and only involves realtors. Others in the industry too have appreciated this move."

In a similar meeting held last year, realtors had taken a resolution to be called realtors instead of brokers and had also decided that they would dress similar to the corporate industry.
